João Malhão is a graphic designer with extensive experience in creating visual identities, graphic and digital materials. With a creative eye and meticulous attention to detail, he is committed to creating projects that exceed client expectations.
Life Story
My name is John.
I am 56 years old, a true "Alfaceira" (native of Lisbon) and a "Saloio" (country bumpkin) at heart. I am a Designer, Scientist, and Sporting fan.
I grew up in Lisbon, studied at the Camões High School, and graduated in Graphic Design from IADE.
I dedicated myself to advertising for many years…
Over time, I dedicated myself to Augmented Reality and 3D projects.
I started by helping local authorities apply for EU funding, specifically with studies and projects for cycle paths, heritage requalifications, and traffic infrastructure.
Over a hundred projects completed... Proud that, despite the anonymity of my work, I have already contributed to the approval of many Community funds for Portugal.
It's been over 30 years of drawings, ideas, studies, and projects. Some are in drawers, some are finished, others are on their way... And what fascinates me most about this profession is thinking, every day, that the best... are yet to come!

Currently , I work as a freelancer in the digital field and in drone design.
I am one of the oldest in this noble profession, although with ties to the analog past, I feel among the first in this new digital order.
I draw anything, I paint and illustrate. I'm from the Spectrum era, from the time when there was only fax and few people had computers.
I was one of the first to own a Mac in Portugal; Photoshop didn't exist yet.
1GB was unthinkable. The word "Terabyte" didn't exist...
Now we have access to everything, without leaving our homes.
We have been witnessing this dizzying change, which will not stop anytime soon.
It's always been this way, and that's why change doesn't scare me, it challenges me...
And that's great!
